Posted by In an effort to reduce the level of security in the state, the Katsina State Executive Council has approved spending N7.8 billion to buy cutting-edge equipment for the state’s security agencies.
When Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, commissioner of internal security and home affairs, briefed reporters on the outcomes of the State Executive Council meeting presided over by governor Dikko Umaru Radda, he made this disclosure.
Danmusa claims that of the aforementioned sum, N4.8 billion (N4,852,613,400) will be used to buy security vehicles for patrol activities and N2.6 billion (N2,697,484,036.33) will be utilized to buy high-tech security equipment. Other security devices will be purchased with the remaining N353.3 million (N353,316,424.50).
He also revealed that the state executive council had sanctioned an additional N320 million for the purchase of security apparatus for the state’s recently established Community Security Watch Corps. He explained that this comes on top of the N640 million that was previously agreed during its previous meeting.
