Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, has declared that the Ogun State elections for President and National Assembly in 2023 will go off without a hitch.
After casting his vote in Abeokuta, Obasanjo spoke with journalists and expressed his opinions.
The former president, who cast his vote at around 10.32 a.m. in the Sokori neighborhood of Abeokuta-North at Ward 11, Polling Unit 22, Olushomi Compound, was pleased with the election’s peaceful and orderly conduct.
He stated, “I think we’re getting it through in our country’s elections.”
“In terms of the election, one can see things that are encouraging and give hope for the future because there are improvements.
I was checked when I entered. The device was placed in front of my face and my picture appeared after I was asked to take off my glasses.
“That’s a novel one, and I believe we are making progress if that occurs nationwide.
“Anything that will help the credibility, integrity, and transparency of the electoral process should be encouraged and supported,” because “a credible election is the beginning of good governance in any country.”
