Ogun government expresses sympathy to Gbadura people over Oba’s passing

The Agura of Gbagura, Oba Sabur Bakre, passed away, and the Ogun State Government has expressed sympathy to the Chiefs and residents of the Gbagura community.

Oba Bakre, the ninth Agura of Gbagura, passed away on Wednesday. He was 61 years old.

The announcement of the Oba’s passing was made in a statement signed by Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

“He was one of the traditional rulers of the five sections of the Egbaland, and under his jurisdictions are 72 townships,” the statement read.

“The late monarch enjoyed much respect and honor during his reign; his legacy will endure for a very long time in the hearts of his family and the residents of Gbagura, Abeokuta.

According to Talabi, “the State Government commiserates with the chiefs, the family, and the entire Gbagura people, both home and abroad, on this great loss of Kabiyesi.”
