“We are glad that this current crop of governors is united,” the Ohanaeze youngsters said. “We are glad that we now have a Governors’ Forum attended by all the governors and not their deputies.” It conveys a lot.
“There is no question that the increased security in the region is a result of this unity. The security agencies’ work is also very admirable.
“We implore the governors not to back down but to remain committed, unified, and steadfast in their effort to bring sanity back to the region,”
Additionally, they praised South East citizens for disobeying Simon Ekpa’s two-week sit-at-home edict.
We are pleased that Ekpa has finally been wiped out and that our people have overcome the terror mentality he instilled in them.
The siege is over, Okwu proclaimed, “With adequate security provided; our people have now been released from the clutches of business merchants using the name of Biafra.”
Other member groups may have attended the meeting and reiterated their support for the Okwu-led leadership, according to the communiqué.
