Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president, has urged humanitarian assistance organizations to coordinate their efforts to prevent conflict, improve sanitation, health, education, and literacy rates in Nigeria.

Osinbajo applauded the focus that Rotary International placed on child and material health, as well as disease prevention and treatment, water cleanliness, and other related issues.

The VP delivered a speech at the 14th district governor of district 9125’s ceremonial investiture in Abuja.

He recognized the recent achievement of Mr. Kunle Adeyanju, who rode a bike from London to Lagos in support of efforts to eradicate polio, and praised the organization’s efforts to eradicate polio nationally.

Dr. Goddy Nnadi officially became Rotary International’s district 9125’s 14th district governor during a ceremony held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, spoke on behalf of the Vice President.

“The scope and scale of social and humanitarian interventions undertaken by Rotary International worldwide based on the contributions and efforts of his members, coupled with the amount of resources and manpower that Rotary International and his districts and members give to deserving causes is commendable and worthy of imitation by other social clubs, and nongovernmental organizations, as it gives true meaning to the word altruism,” he said.
