The four Super Falcons players from Abia State were received by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State in his rural residence in the state’s Isiala Ngwa South LGA.
The four Falcons were greeted by Otti, his wife Pricilla, and a few of his aides. The Governor and his wife praised the female athletes for their exceptional bravery and patriotism during the just finished FIFA Female World Cup, which was held by Australia and New Zealand.
The Falcon players have become role models for young people in Abia and around Nigeria, according to the Abia Governor, who praised them for making Abia State and Nigeria proud with their outstanding performance.
Glory Ogbonna of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Christy Ucheibe of Isuikwuato LGA, Uchenna Kanu of Uzuakoli, Bende LGA, and Esther Okoronkwo were the Falcon players honored.
The players, who attracted a lot of attention at the governor’s mansion, were grateful for the cordial welcome they received from Governor Otti and the Abia State government.
