The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers has accused Rotimi Amaechi, a senior All Progressive Congress (APC) member and former transportation minister, of “secretly cooperating” with PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

The Rivers PDP’s director of communications, Ogbonna Nwuke, issued a statement on Monday in which the party accused Amaechi and Abubakar of working together to win the presidential election.
“As part of the carefully crafted plot, he reconciled with members of the Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State recently. The statement continues, “We equally know for certain that he has been holding secret meetings with the PDP presidential candidate.”

We challenge the former transportation minister to deny this fact. Let him deny that he is not collaborating with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to undermine the genuine aspirations of the people of Southern Nigeria at this time.
The Rivers PDP also claimed that a “cabal” is to blame for the current shortage of naira notes and gasoline.

Since the end of January, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s naira redesign policy has resulted in a shortage of naira notes. This has led to a legal dispute between some states and the federal government, as well as protests in some areas of the country.
In an interview, the governor of Kaduna, Nasir el-Rufai, made the claim that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is being sabotaged by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
According to the Rivers PDP, “Nigerians have been forced to go through the eye of the needle in search of money with which to feed their families and meet their daily needs”
“The vicious cabal that has made it a duty to inflict pain and suffering on the rest of us has done so deliberately in order to influence the outcome of the forthcoming elections,” the statement reads. “Unknown to the majority of Nigerians.”
