To improve healthcare in the area, the Kano State Government has formally asked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to build a medical facility there.
At a banquet to celebrate the successful completion of a “Cardiac Program for Adults,” sponsored by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the plea.
Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the deputy governor who attended the event in the governor’s place, underlined the need of a fully functional medical facility for Kano State as well as its neighbors.
Gwarzo emphasized the close proximity of nations like the Republic of Niger and Chad, which lack the financial means to support such initiatives on their own.
He declared that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the crown prince for their involvement on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Additionally, the governor promised to work with the consul general and his staff to improve the already-existing humanitarian alliance between the Kingdom and Kano State.
Mr. Khalil Ahmed Adamawi, the Saudi Consul General in Kano, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s dedication to applying humanitarian values that lessen the suffering of persons who lack the ability to pay for their medical operations.
He said: “This dedication has become the norm for Saudi Arabia, demonstrating their commitment to helping those in need.”
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was thanked by Prof. Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, for his steadfast dedication to enhancing the state’s healthcare system.
He also praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for saving lives and improving the medical expertise of the local personnel at AKTH, in particular the humanitarian team that traveled to Kano.
Distinguished visitors from a range of professions from both inside and outside the nation attended the dinner ceremony.
