In honor of the yearly Isese Day, the Osun State Government has authorized Monday, August 21, 2023, as a public holiday.

Isese Day is observed by the state’s followers of traditional religions as a day of celebration.
In a statement released on Saturday by the state commissioner for information and public education, Kolapo Alimi, the government gave its consent.

The statement reads, “On the occasion of this year’s 2023 Isese Day celebrations, which will take place tomorrow, August 20, 2023, I have the honor and privilege to convey the congratulations and best wishes of the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to all traditional religion worshippers in Osun State.
“Mr. Governor has designated Monday, August 21, 2023, as a public holiday throughout the state. Our government encourages oneness, unity, and religious peace among the adherents of different religions in Osun State.

Finally, Mr. Governor would like to ask all traditional religious believers to make this occasion not only calm and enjoyable, but also an opportunity to pray for the Osun State administration and its fine citizens. He does this while congratulating them and wishing them joyful holidays.
The message added, “The State Government wishes Isese adherents a peaceful and fruitful celebration.”
