After a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey, more than 1,800 people were killed and thousands more were hurt.
At a site, rescuers were seen pulling a toddler and a man out of the rubble.
The US Geological Survey said the quake was one of the strongest in the area in more than 100 years. It happened 23 kilometers (14.2 miles) east of Nurdagi in Turkey’s Gaziantep province at a depth of 24.1 kilometers.
Several strong aftershocks, including one with a magnitude of 7.5, have been felt in the area for hours after the first earthquake.
Turkey’s disaster agency asked for help from the rest of the world as it works to find and save people.
The number of people who have died in Syria so far is more than 800.
